Our first week of CGA was a whirlwind of icebreaker games, lots of laughter and processing moving into a new season of life. As a welcome to the program we had a week long retreat together to get to know one another, learn about what we would be doing and setting goals for what we wanted out of CGA.
And as an introvert its hard living in one house for a week with 30 other people. We like our alone time. So here are 5 simple things about welcome week that I learned:
1. A whole day of ice breaker group games are exhausting – an introverts worst fear are the words “now we are going to play a get to know you game!”
2. People are EVERYWHERE! – want a breather from the constant stream of people? Take an extra long shower.
3. Movies are the best ending to a day – I can still spend time with people but sit in a dark room and not talk? Sign me up.
4. You are pushed out of your comfort zone all the time – I learned so much about being open and having conversations with people I didn’t know very well.
5. You end up making great friends – Now I have 28 people that I can now call
