I have some exciting news to share…

I AM SQUAD LEADING!

Thats right, I will be heading out on the World Race for the second time to lead some amazing women around the world for 9 months!

Squad leading has been something on my heart since my own race almost 2 years ago.  I had put the dream on the back burner in order to work in student ministry at my church in Texas.

However as my time in CGA has gone on its been something I had been thinking about more and more.  I love being an influence into peoples lives and walking them through a transformation of learning more of who they are and falling more in love with the Lord.

This semester I have been in leadership track.  And as the class went on the Lord was affirming qualities of leadership that He had given to me that I had never noticed in myself before.  Every class I was learning more of what it meant to be a good leader and how to lead with a servant’s heart.

I decided to go through the interview process of squad leading for a Gap Year squad.  World Race Gap Year is for college-aged students and goes to 3 continents in 9 months to serve in ministries around the world. The only difference between regular World Race and gap year aside from age and length of time, is the amount of time spent in each country.  I have such a heart for college-aged students and their hearts for change and service.  I knew that if I squad lead I would love to be a part of a Gap Year squad. Their enthusiasm and teachability is something I wanted to be a part of.

And once I was approved to lead, I knew in my heart that it was what I wanted to do.  So this October I will be leading a Gap Year squad of 52 women through 3 countries in Africa, Asia and South America.  I am so incredibly excited for this new adventure and can’t wait to see the transformation not just in my squad’s lives but my own.
